Buy from the professional

Are professional products really necessary? Short answer YES!

When it comes to the quality of a product it's all about, the ingredients. When you purchase products at your salon, your stylist can guarantee the quality as well as diagnose your hair needs.

Think of it like this, if you felt really sick, trouble breathing, sore throat, fever. You could go to the drug store buy vitamins, cough drops, and Tylenol. Sure, those things can help some of your symptoms, but it does not get to the root of the problem.

Going to your stylist is equivalent to going to your dr for a diagnosis and a prescription.

As a stylist I take pride in the products I use. I want them to not only to work wel, but to be vegan and cruelty free, I want them to be naturally derived and sustainable sourced. I also offer products free of parabens and sulfates.

What does all that mean to the consumer?

When using products that are naturally derived, it has benefits not only for you as well as the environment When a product is sustainably sourced that company processes their product with the planet in mind.

Why are parabens and sulfates bad?

Parabens can mimic estrogens and cause problems in the body's cells and have been found in breast cancer.

Sulfates can leave residues in the heart and lungs and brain. They also can irritate the scalp, cause hair color to fade, dry out the hair and aid in hair loss.

I am not demonizing all drug store products, what I am saying is read the label's and do you research.

If your product label says alcohol in any on the first three ingredients throw it away. If you label has words ending in "paraben" or "methylparaben" or "propylparaben" put it down.

If you see SLS "sodium laurylsulfate" or SLES "sodium laureth sulfate" do not buy it.

There is also a risk in purchasing professional products from retailers like amazon Tj max and Walmart, many of these products are expired which impacts their efficacy and there is no guarantee of the quality.

If you trust your stylist with cutting and coloring, your hair trusts them to do the research for you, there is value in the peace of mind.

The bottom line is the sale of product at a big box store has little to no impact, but a product sale from your stylist can pay for Christmas presents for their kids or pay some bills, it has a great impact.

So, Trust the professionals and buy from your stylist!
